In a new NYTimes/CBS poll, conducted March 7-11, respondents were asked a few questions on the issue of health care coverage for female employees and employers' religious objections. Notably, when asked whether the debate on contraception coverage for female employees is more about religious freedom or women's health and rights, 37% picked religious freedom; 51% picked women's health. Sadly, the survey did not give "both" as an answer. Still, 6% volunteered that very reasonable response anyway.
Here are the full results (pdf):
73. Do you think health insurance plans for all employees should have to cover the full
cost of birth control for their female employees, or should employers be allowed to opt
out of covering that based on religious or moral objections?
