Opponents of the construction of a mosque in Murfreesboro, Tennessee were issued a clear defeat in court last month. They argued that Islam was not a religion, that its followers are inherently anti-American, that the mere presence of an Islamic house of worship poses a threat to the community. It was an outrageously offensive set of claims and fortunately the judge had none of it.
Now, they are throwing out their last gasp effort at a re-hearing:
Attorney Joe Brandon Jr., who represents 17 plaintiffs against the county government’s site plan approval, filed a motion Monday asking Chancellor Robert Corlew to “revise and clarify” a ruling that mosque foes failed to prove the worship center would cause them harm. Brandon also attached a memorandum in support of the motion.
“This motion and memorandum will pave the way to a final hearing. A final hearing where victory is certain,” Brandon stated in an email.
Where victory is certain?
