Via Religion Clause, the Supreme Court has declined to hear the case involving a Pennsylvania mother's request to read the Bible to her child's kindergarten class for show and tell. This leaves in place an appeals court ruling that upheld the right of the school to ban such activity.

The NYTimes reports on the divisive case of John Freshwater, an Ohio public school teacher accused of improperly promoting religion in his classroom. His pre-termination hearing is scheduled to end this week.
