Sotomayor Confirmed as Supreme Court Justice E-mail

Judge Sonia Sotomayor was confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court today by a Senate vote of 68-31.  Nine Repulicans joined all 59 Democrats present (Senator Ted Kennedy was absent) in voting yes. She will be sworn in on Saturday. Her first term will becin October 5. Salazar v. Buono - the Mojave National Preserve cross case, will be argued Wednesday, October 7.
