Dr. James Dobson Presents: Great Moments in Hair-Splitting

James Dobson on his radio show today (my emphasis):

It's probably obvious which of the two major candidates' views are more palatable to those of us who embrace a pro-life, pro-family world view. While I will not endorse either candidate this year - in fact I've only endorsed one presidential nominee in my life - I can say that I am now supportive of John McCain in his bid for the presidency.
Maybe "endorse" doesn't mean what he thinks it means? That's quite a turnaround in the same sentence.

It's worth noting that while Dobson's Focus on the Family is a non-profit, tax exempt organization prohibited from political activity, its sister organization, Focus on the Family Action - a separate legal entity - is not tax exempt and encompasses the group's activities that fall under the IRS' lobbying provisions. Maybe he just switched roles mid-sentence?
