Houston Pastors Trying New Method of Defense Against Electioneering Charges

A group of Houston pastors is trying the old right-back-at-you method, filing an IRS complaint against Americans United for trying to improperly influence an election by...filing a complaint against a pastor for trying to improperly influence an election.

KIII TV has the press release from Liberty Legal Institute, representing the pastors.

AU sent a letter last month to the IRS concerned with pastor Steve Riggle's endorsement of US House candidate Shelley Sekula-Gibbs. While ministers may of course offer personal endorsements, Riggle is accused of having referred to being pastor of the church during his offer of support, without taking any steps to distance his opinion from that of the church.
