"Should Houses of Worship Express Views on Politics?"
51% of Americans say yes and 46% say no, according to the newest poll on religion in American life just published by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life. That's virtually unchanged over the last 10 years.
Other interesting stats: 69% of Americans believe that "liberals have gone too far in keeping religion out of government" while 49% believe that "conservative Christians have gone too far in imposing their values."
Also, by a slim margin of 14% - 13%, American adults under the age of 30 are more likely to identify themselves as a member of the religious left than a member of the religious right. That's the only age bracket in which religious left wins out.
